Jeff put a new alternator on my diesel engine and flushed the saltwater system. The boat is new to me and he answered all my questions to help me understand the systems and how I should care for them. I learned a lot from Jeff and will continue to call him for all my diesel needs. Highly recommend!

Jeff has been amazing..I had some issues with my old diesel and jeff came to look at it and give me suggested options..I decided I wanted to repower my sailboat with a newer model rebuilt motor and Jeff was great to work with..as with most such work it had some twist and turns on some stuff but he always had a positive attitude and never made the situation stressful…his sons were a huge help and they are just a good family all around..finding a diesel mechanic is tough enough and finding a really reliable and all around good guy as a mechanic is even more rare…I know it was not an easy job swaping motors but they never let on that it was…I would refer anyone to him without hesitation..

Unfortunately I wrote my previous revue before receiving my bill from Jeff. It turns out he baited and switched on me. He quoted me $140.00 an hour. That was all his quote said. He billed me for 13 hours = $1820.00. then he had an extra charge that was not mentioned at all in his quote. It was an additional $600.00 for an apprentice he had with him. He said the apprentice made $40.00 an hour. this doesn’t add up either. because $600.00 divided by 13 hours is $46.15. Its as though he just pulled $600.00 out of thin air and tacked it on to the bill. Also, he charged me $80.00 for a injector puller he had to have made from a $100.00 injector I supplied. My total bill came out to a nice round $2500.00 How convenient! Not only that, but he offered me a 10% discount if I gave him a key fob for him to keep to let him self on to the docks at my marina. I asked why he doesn’t Just check in with the office? they will issue you a key. He said because they require the venders to be properly insured and he’s not. So great! I had a guy working on my boat with out adequate insurance. Turns out he was sneaking in behind people. Also one of the injectors he installed came loose. it was an easy fix that I did, Just two nuts that needed to be snugged down but he wouldn’t and couldn’t do it for another two weeks. It literally took me 10 min to fix the problem. Everyone on the docks that Ive talked to said the apprentice fee was absolutely wrong to surprise me with, nobody has ever even heard of an apprentice fee. So needles to say I nor anyone else I talk to will use him ever. Also I notified my Marina office of him and his poor business practices.

This is your first review after paying the bill…word for word…Jeff is awesome!!! Totally on time and keeps his word when he will be there I have Perkins 6.354s and he was totally willing and able to work on them. So happy with the work he did. Replaced fuel injectors & adjusted valves. My boat runs incredibly smooth now. Jeff is totally the best ! Will definitely make him my official mechanic. Thank you Jeff.!!!So tell me Joe how do we go from that to your newest review, you lied about the insurance, sneaking in and the key..!!! We came down to your boat 7 different times because in injectors were so frozen in the block, removed and replaced 12 injectors 6 per side.. drained the cooling system on starboard side to repair a leak… And I personally went to the plumbing supply house to purchase the copper elbows and tubing, just to have you call me up when I got there to tell me it was too expensive, all the parts were direct from the distributor 0% mark-up.. adjusted all the valves on both engines… And gave you a smoking deal at $2500 bucks… To have you turn around and tell me I was paying my apprentice too much.. I don’t think you were adding in everything that goes into having an employee… If that’s the way you feel Joe that’s fine.. except for the lying 🤥🤥🤥

My Marine diesel is original to the boat, it’s 45 years old and was produced in limited numbers. There are very few mechanics that are even willing to look at it or work on it, let alone try and find parts. Jeff didn’t even blink at the challenge. Not only was he willing to work on my engine, he had experience with it and was able to source replacement parts within the hour.
His communication was very responsive via phone and text message. He was always clear about his progress and next steps, the cost, and a timeline to get it done. The problem was just as he diagnosed and I was back up and running quickly.
He mentioned that he has over 30 years experience and it shows. Would definitely hire again.
